Google Classroom is a free educational app that enables teachers and students to go paperless. Offered by Google as a free service for schools, non-profit organizations, and just about anybody with a personal Google account, this program makes it easier for both instructors and students to connect—even outside of the classroom. The app is available for both PC and mobile so you can use whichever device to access your account and start working on your lessons. The mobile app also lets students take photos, share files from other apps, and access the app offline.

Google Classroom started as a free web service that aims to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments in a paperless way. Its primary purpose is to streamline the process of sharing files between teachers and students. For this, the program combines Google Drive for assignment creation and distribution; Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides for writing; Gmail for communication; and Google Calendar for scheduling. 

Similar to the rest of the G Suite apps, Google Classroom is free and has no ads so you can focus on putting all of these features to good use. Teachers can create, collect, and mark assignments with ease. The auto-copying feature for Google documents is a handy tool for them, enabling simple distribution to all students. For classes, they can send a private invite code to students or just automatically import them through a school domain. 

They can also monitor each student’s progress on activities and lessons and provide real-time feedback to them. Students, on the other hand, can easily keep track of assignments and such since each class they have has its  Drive folder. Plus, they can take photos and attach files to assignments without much hassle. The mobile version will need a lot of device permissions, and you’ll mostly be limited by whatever the G Suite apps lack. Nevertheless, this is a user-friendly app to use for online schoolwork.
